How does Keyport get my keys into the Keyport Slide?

Your keys will not fit directly into the Slide 3.0. Keyport has designed proprietary keys called Blades, which take the place of your current keys and fit securely in the Slide 3.0. Keyport Blades function exactly the same as your current keys but feature a universal head that is much smaller and lighter than that of a traditional key.

Last updated: January 13, 2016 13:01

What types of keys are compatible with the Slide 3.0?

Keyport is compatible with most of the world’s key blanks. Any key with a shank length of less than 2.0”, thickness of less than 0.125”, and a height of less than 0.46”, can be converted to a Keyport Blade including high-security keys such as Schlage Primus, Assa, Mul-T-Lock, Medeco, Abloy, etc.

How do I get my keys duplicated onto my Keyport Blades?

You can take your Keyport key Blade blanks to any locksmith to be duplicated from your original keys. Locksmiths have the skills and experience needed to duplicate your keys correctly. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for the big box retailers as the experience of their key staff is typically much less than that of a locksmith, and it is limited to a much smaller universe of keys.

We have begun to assemble a select group of Authorized Keyport Dealers who are expert key cutters and generally carry the most common Keyport Blades along with a range of Inserts and accessories. They are also able to special order any Blades that they do not carry in stock. You may check to see if there is one close to you here.

Last updated: January 13, 2016 13:07

Is it possible to replace individual keys once they are in the Slide?

Blades are easily inserted into and removed from the Keyport Slide.

Can I purchase a Slide 3.0 or Pivot if I live outside the USA & Canada?

Yes, but please note that we currently carry U.S. and Canadian key Blade blanks only. If you purchase a Slide and live outside of the U.S. and Canada, you will need to send a duplicate set of your keys (either blanks or live cut) to our USA facility so we can convert them to Keyport compatible key Blades for you.

The Pivot is compatible with international keys, and we do ship internationally.

Last updated: January 13, 2016 14:19

Can I order Inserts or accessories now, for my Slide 3.0 or Pivot? What about add-on orders?

No, please do not place any orders in the Keyport Store for your 3.0 or Pivot until instructed to do so in the campaign updates (unless they are for the Slide 2.0). We will not be combining shipments with Kickstarter rewards.

We ask that you hold on purchasing items to go along with your Kickstarter reward until after the campaign for a couple of important reasons:

  1. We have not put up any specific products that are Pivot compatible (e.g. USBs and Pens). Existing USB and Pen inserts are not directly compatible and will need to be modified to fit the Pivot.

  2. The chip module for the Slide 3.0 and Pivot is not available yet, so you may want to hold off until that is ready

  3. We will be providing U.S. customers who back us on Kickstarter with a FREE shipping discount code, and are working with our shipping providers to reduce international shipping rates. If you order now, you will not benefit from the work we are doing on your behalf now.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
